Dear Bill, please excuse this unsolicited message. I have just started reading your book and I'm having an absolutely great time with it. I used to live in southern Arizona and your Spanglish phrases take me right back to the landscapes, the sounds and smells of the desert and the city of Tucson. But that's not what I meant to write about. I'm a translator by trade and it just occurred to me that not only have you written a highly amusing and insightful book, you have also created one of the few texts in human history that cannot be translated. O.k., you already knew that. I, on the other hand, find it fascinating - and I want to thank you for giving us this most enjoyable, extraordinary publication. Best wishes and many greetings from the Cognac region, Michaela (of Czech origin, brought up in Switzerland, presently living in France)
